Fundraising Campaign: Real Riders Profile
Most people are terrified of asking for money—even when it’s fundraising for a cause they believe in. To help overcome their fear, I created a campaign featuring local Bike MS Oregon cyclists that emboldened them to make the ask, and spurred on their donors to give.

Back in the mid-80's, I worked in the photo department of a big box retail store. There was this one guy that was so much different than everybody else. His name was Ron.
He was always kind, always friendly, worked hard, and would do anything for you.
We eventually became friends—hung out at concerts, poker parties, sporting events. He was even in my wedding!
So, years later, when my friend told me he had something called "MS," it punched me hard in the gut. I was devastated. I thought, "How could something so terrible happen to someone so good?"
I know it devastated him way more than I could possibly imagine. But after a few months trying to figure things out, he rose to the challenge—told me he needed to start exercising and get in better shape. Then he formed a Bike MS team. That first year, we only had four people. Six years later, we’re over a hundred strong. How cool is that?
The journey I've seen Ron take since being diagnosed has inspired me and, I know, has inspired a bunch of others to rise up in the fight to crush MS.
So, will you do me a small favor? Make a donation to Bike MS. Even five bucks will help Ron, and so many others like him, keep rolling.
